| This class
is specifically designated for any JANOME Serger. (See our Sergers,
here). Unlike
sewing Machines, Sergers have the capability to trim the fabric as it sews,
virtually cutting sewing time in half. With four needles to thread:
left needle, right needle, upper looper, and lower looper nearly 1/3 of
class time is devoted to proper threading of the machine. This course
also specifies in detail: how to remove the left and/or right needle
for rolled hems or flat lock seaming, how to adjust differential feed, how
to adjust tensions for different sewing applications, how to switch from
standard sewing to rolled hemming, how to piece together garments for
clothing with overedge stitching.
Because Sergers do not have a bobbin system and are a different machine
altogether, it is best not to confuse this class with mechanical or
electronic introduction courses. Be sure to ask your salesperson which
introductory class is right for you. |
