VACUUM PARTS & SERVICE |
| |
|
Just like any other appliance in your
home, your vacuum cleaner requires periodic maintenance and service.
Each vacuum will have certain "wear items" that need to be serviced and/or
replaced at regularly scheduled intervals to keep it running properly and
efficiently. |
| |
|
At Guarantee, we have the largest
stock of the most commonly replaced service items in North-Central Indiana.
Regardless of your experiences with the other appliances in your home,
we are dedicated to making certain that if your vacuum requires repair that
this part of ownership will be hassle-free. Also, if we don't have the
part you require in stock, we are happy to special order any item for you.

|
As we mentioned earlier, each vacuum
has "wear items" that need to be replaced or serviced at regularly scheduled
intervals. A "wear item" is a part that will gradually lose its
effectiveness over time. Wear items on your vacuum may differ, but the
typical parts included are belts, bags, filters, brush rollers and light
bulbs. Please consult the table below to see if your vacuum may need
service on one or more of these parts. |

BELTS |
Belts should be replaced on
your vacuum at least once each year. Belts can stretch out as they are
used, which means the brush roll won't spin as fast as it should. This
can cause your vacuum to clean less efficiently, which means it will take
longer to clean your house.
Most belts cost between $1.50
to $5 each for household vacuums. |

BAGS |
If your vacuum takes bags
(and we recommend vacuums with bags), then
you should replace them frequently for many reasons. On most
vacuums a full bag means less suction and pickup. Also, the older your
bag is the more likely your vacuum is to have an unpleasant odor.
Finally, many vacuum bags are also a form of filtration for your vacuum.
Once your bag is full it loses it effectiveness as a filter.
Most bags are available in
packages of 3 to 6 bags per package. Cost can vary greatly from model
to model, but most are within the $3 to $15 range. |

BRUSH ROLLS |
Nearly every vacuum made
today is equipped with a brushroll, which helps your vacuum get the dirt
from deep down in your carpet. Over time, the brushes on this
brushroll can wear down and/or round off. Once this happens, the
brushroll should be replaced.
Brushroll prices vary greatly
between models. Most are available from $20 to $30, however some
brushrolls can cost from $50 on up. |

FILTERS |
It is extremely important to
replace all the filters on your vacuum regularly. Not only do they
keep the air that your vacuum recirculates into your home cleaner if they
are new, but they also have a direct impact on your vacuums cleaning
performance. The older your filters are, the less air that can be move
through them, which causes your vacuum to labor. Filters on bagged
vacuums can range from $5 to $20. Some vacuums have filter kits that
have all of the filters your vacuum takes available.
If you have a bagless vacuum,
it is even more important to change the filters more often. Since the
filters are trapping ALL of the dust and debris without the aid of a bag, if
the filters go unchanged for too long, the back pressure created can damage
your motor. Bagless vacuums typically use many filters and each filter
can range from $5 to over $50 each. |
